I guess just numbers wise, there are so many more fashion bloggers out in the US (i would say about 90% of the bloggers i follow are american). Things may change for the future though! :)

Ondo Lady: yes i think the way forward is for bloggers to power it themselves - afterall that's how fashion blogging kind of took off, & then the advertisers realised how powerful they were.. So yes, keep us updated if you put anything together!

(just found you via IFB by the way, haha! good blog, just google friend connected w you :)

glass-of-fashion.blogspot.comKatiehttp://fuyumeuk.blogspot.com/?fcsite=15744808366191247691&fcprofile=16706031980726500501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-69531989822466510712011-02-11T18:44:05.000+00:002011-02-11T18:44:05.000+00:00Really good post Faye, with some very relavent and...Really good post Faye, with some very relavent and valid points. Bloggers are important and are changing things in the same way social media is changing the way news in general is reported. It is sad that we are behind in the UK but I hope that the tide is turning. I believe there is room for both traditional journalism as well as blogging, but everything has to evolve and adapt as technology changes our world.Nikkihttp://www.nikkinakkilou.co.uk/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-2769080689385250522011-02-11T11:34:30.000+00:002011-02-11T11:34:30.000+00:00Great post and I really agree. They are more relateable as we also discuss affordable fashion.
I am very excited about the rumours for an IFB conference being held in the UK.HiFashionhttp://fuyumeuk.blogspot.com/?fcsite=15744808366191247691&fcprofile=09637297743574634530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-86310079270797781822011-02-11T10:18:59.000+00:002011-02-11T10:18:59.000+00:00Well said!!!!Well said!!!!Francahttp://www.oranges-and-apples.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-75360816277083117892011-02-10T12:51:18.000+00:002011-02-10T12:51:18.000+00:00This is a great post and a very valid one. The UK ...This is a great post and a very valid one. The UK are so far behind the US when it comes to blogging but then as a small country I suppose we are with most things. However, a lot of PRs particularly those in the beauty sector really have their fingers on the pulse and host regular events for bloggers and the fashion scene seems to be coming onboard. I went to blogger event hosted by River Island last week which was very well organised and also the tech industry welcome bloggers with open arms as well as the book PRs. I guess the next step is to take it up a gear which is hosting conferences and blogger events as well as awards. There are lots of blogger social meet ups going on around the country which are brilliant but I have not come across a blogger conference in the UK. Also there does not seem to be a Blogger Awards event held in the South East (please correct me if I am wrong) there is the Manchester Blogger Awards and the Irish Blog Awards but nothing for London which is surprising as there are hundreds of bloggers based in the capital. So the question is - is anyone interested in organising one? I am as I think it would a great way of raising the profile of bloggers in the UK. Also I interviewed the lovely Jennine on my blog and she confirmed that there will indeed be an IFB conference in the UK so that is fantastic news.Ondo Ladyhttp://themusingsofondolady.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-38098557645630820842011-02-10T12:37:44.000+00:002011-02-10T12:37:44.000+00:00I think you make an excellent point, too many jour...I think you make an excellent point, too many journalists think we are here to take their jobs from under them. What they don't realise is working with us would help them survive in the tough times they are going through. We would have fresh ideas and we are way more in touch with the target market.

p.s 'more dash for cash' - oh yes I can spend £200 on a pair of trousers. But if they keep continuing to sit up and take notice, it'll be their loss. Whether they like it or not, we are making serious in roads in the industry as bloggers while magazine and newspaper sales continue to plummet. They really have no choice but to get with the times.Bangs and a Bunhttp://bangsandabun.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-4082286755616215112011-02-10T10:34:07.000+00:002011-02-10T10:34:07.000+00:00Here, here!!Nice post :)Here, here!!

Nice post :)Emilyhttp://sugarandspice-shopgirl.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2149201805236611556.post-14974986531443119132011-02-10T09:52:17.000+00:002011-02-10T09:52:17.000+00:00You are so right.
