My 30 day Ethical Fashion Challenge

Thanks to everyone who let comments on my 'Say No to Fur' post. I was astounded by the quantity and quality of the comments. You all made some valid points and it made me think a lot. I’ve always been vehemently anti-fur and leather but what about the other ethical points to fashion.i.e.. child labour, working conditions, effect on the earth. These are also very important in regards to fashion choices. I’ve had many a discussion surrounding the ethics of fashion via twitter so I’ve decided to set myself a challenge.

For 30 days from the 3rd March till the 3rd of April the only new clothes or shoes that I will purchase will be pre owned or from reliable eco conscious fashion brands. No fast fashion. No topshop, New Look, H&M etc. This will be a huge challenge as I’m used to buying all my clothes on the high street but it’s one that I'm consciously committed to. Shoes will be the biggest challenge as I have size 8 (10 in the US) feet and finding shoes through the usual channels is hard enough. I’ll be chronicling my progress and informing you of all my progress through this blog and If all goes well I intend to make this a life choice and not just a month long one.
Wish me luck and stay tuned!

  8. So excited to see how this! I shop secondhand almost exclusively and now regular store prices shock me. I look at tags and think, "What do you mean this costs more than $5!"
