Why I Love Japanese nail art

Ever since I discovered a love for Japan, their nail art has astounded me. Unlike Western nail art which can be one dimensional the Japanese way of doing nails features 3D designs in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Common designs can include Hello Kitty, cakes, ice creams, pearls and rhinestones. The detail and workmanship is exquisite and the variety and daring of the various nail designs always impresses me. One day soon I will order the supplies and get started on my own designs. But in the mean time take a gander at these glorious creations.

  1. I find it absolutely beautiful too, pity I'm too boring and practical to actually be able to wear 3D designs myself. :D

  4. Their designs are super cool. I love that it's 3D, though I'd be too afraid to wear it for fear I may ruin it!

  5. I just wonder how they move or touch things with those nails! I bet they wear them after they're completel dressed, and tear up their thights when putting off their outfits haha!

  6. They're actually more wearable than they look. I used to wear these kind of nails often.

  7. You can buy the pieces and glue them onto fake nails - a site called full moon is really good. They also sell sets of nails xxx

  9. OK so I'm only *just* getting into painting my nails so all this might be a bit too advanced for me at the moment, but I'd love to experiment with 3D Hello Kitty or even Moomins nails! Oh, the thought of it...
