FTF Blog Event - Feel The Femininity

When I got the email detailing the theme for this month's blog event. I( got excited. I love looking at and dissecting Spring Summer 2012 trends and as I attended a variety of shows at London Fashion Week I saw the trends up close and personal. I may be biased but London is my favorite of the fashion weeks. I'm always inspired and astounded by Londoners unique creative spark and this season was no exception.

Spring Summer 12 was the return of femininity. Gone were androgynopus shapes and unisex designs.

Vintage inspired fashion isn't a new thing of course, but in SS retro/vintage has really taken over. Sixties style A line dresses were everywhere and of course the midi length skirts of the 50s were also ever prevalent. All the collections I saw were also very wearable and could be translated from Day to Nightwear with ease.

The colour palette included almost every pastel hue and of course the big news of the season was the abundance of prints. Of course London isn't new to prints but this season saw the other fashion weeks follow suit.

The designs scream glamour, sophistication and a subtle sensuality. This trend isn't about showing as much flesh as possible. It's about showing your femininity in a more restrained but altogether more sophisticated manner.

Here are some of the key looks:

I don't know about you? But I can't wait to fully embrace this trend come Spring.

  1. These are so gorgeous! I especially love Izmaylova and that last shot of Mulberry is perfection. I love the mix of soft and bold between the fabric and the big hair, it's such a charming result!
