It will be no surprise to discover that I'm a huge fan of this brand given my love for Japanese beauty products. But surprisingly I've never tried their original cleansing oil. So I was intrigued to see if this product lives up to the hype. Read on to find out!
I'm not a fan of some of the very fluid milky type cleansers that I've tried in the past. They tend to go everywhere and aren't so great at removing heavy makeup. Most days I wear foundation, powder, eyeshadow, blusher, eyeliner and lippy so I need something that will remove it all without too much effort.
This one did so very quickly and easily. I applied it by rubbing a small amount into my hands then massaging it into my face. I then removed it with cotton wool pads. The whole process took me about 3 minutes so it was fairly quick and painless. I've noticed that with a lot of cleansers I'm left with very dry skin after application. But this Shu Uemura one left my face feeling clean and moisturised. I assume this is down to the oil base of the product.
My skin is naturally quite dry so this product is a godsend.
I loved the subtle scent of the gel. It wasn't overly scented but it does have a fresh smelling scent that is very pleasant.
So overall I'm extremely happy with this product. Some people may object to the scent as scent is a very individual thing. A scent that I find pleasant may not be pleasant for everyone. I also wouldn't advise the use of this product for those with oily skin as its likely to make the problem worse.
