Most of you already know that I have a deep love and fascination for Asian beauty products. Beauty brands from that part of the world pay attention to detail and produce high quality beauty essentials. It has taken a long time for the west to realise the innovation involved in the Asian beauty industry but they are slowly getting there. The popularity of BB cream is testamount to that. I am very keen to review lots of Asian beauty products on this blog and today I bring you my first. The product I will be reviewing is DollyWink Cream Eyeshadow in Gold.
DollyWink is a cosmetics line fronted by popular Japanese model Tsubasa Masuwaka. It is a line she produces in collaboration with very popular cosmetics line Koji and it is very big in Japan. The collection includes eyeshadows, nail polishes, lip products and lashes.
I have been a fan of the range for a long time so it made sense that my first review would be a DollyWink one.
So let's get on to the review.
The first thing you'll notice about this product is the super cute packaging. All DollyWink products are adorned with the black bow and polka dots. Most products also feature Tsubasa's face too. I love anything cute and girly so that packaging ticks all my boxes. It is distinctive too so you can always tell it is DollyWink even when it isn't boxed. the brilliant thing about the rear of the packaging is that it shows a swatch of the product. This is a genius idea and it is something I have never come across on Western products.
The colour is a very pretty metallic gold and it is extremely wearable. It glides on easily and stays put for hours. this colour would be excellent on the eyes paired with black liquid eyeliner. But you could also use it as a highlighter on the cheekbones.
Verdict: A brilliant, wearable multi purpose product that doesn't break the bank.

Let Us Send Love to Japan on March 11th!
We are almost approaching the 1st anniversary of the earthquake disaster in Japan but people over there are still suffering. Nobody could forget the disaster that rocked the country I love. The UK has arranged a whole host of events to raise awareness and funds for the country and I've rounded up some of them here. Lets send our prayers and best wishes to Japan on March 11th - the anniversary of the tsunami.

Nipponkai has arranged a day for all the family at the unity centre in Chester. Activities include musical performances, dressing up in traditional japanese clothing and the chance to send a message of support to those in Tohoku.
When - March 11th at the Unity Centre, Chester. Details here.
You Are Not Forgotten
An event to remember all those affected. Light candles in memory and show support for Japan. There'll also be a concert and activities for the children. This one is based in London.

The Japan-Cornwall Society Tsunami Charity Concert
The Japan-Cornwall Society will be presenting with the support of the Eden Project, the Japan Tsunami Charity Concert to be held on 16th March 2012 at the Eden Project, as March 11th will see the first anniversary of the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster. The money raised will be donated to Ashinaga Ikueikai, http://www.ashinaga.org/en/, who for over 40 years have been actively supporting and sponsoring children who’ve lost their parents and carers, and will be specifically for children orphaned by the disaster.

Uniqlo & Undercover Collaboration on the Way!
I heard the most exciting news today. Uniqlo are teaming up with Jun Takahashi's label Undercover to create a collection for the whole family. The collaboration includes ranges for men, women and children. Undercover is well established in it's native Japan and has been showing for 10 years during Paris Fashion Week. Undercover fuses punk influences with a more contemporary feel and I've been a fan of Jun's for a long time. You can guarantee I'll be rushing out to buy some pieces when it launches on March 16th. Uniqlo haven't yet released any images of the collection so I'll be awaiting those with bated breath. To give you some idea of what could be expected, check out these images from Undercover's most recent collection!

Love those boots. I'm hoping footwear will be included in the collection. This may turn out to be my favourite high street collaboration of all time!

Tabio A/W 2011 & Summer Sale Beauties
My love for Tabio, the Japanese socks and hosiery super brand is well know. As demonstrated by these previous posts. Their socks and tights are super cute and comfortable beyond belief. They use techniques that help create the most durable and great quality socks/hosiery that you’ll ever wear. Their customer service is second to none and the staff are a great advert for the brand. So I was overjoyed to hear that they’ve just released their AW collection. These socks are soo pretty and completely adorable.
Aren't the scalloped tops gorgeous?
Not only are the brand releasing these beauties but they also have an amazing summer sale on at the moment with big reductions.
These are are my picks from the sale:
Spot a theme here? Yes, most my sale favourites have bows on them. I’m a girly girl at heart. Bows appear quite often on this blog. So, which is your favourite pair. I can’t choose one I need them all in my life. I’m greedy like that!
To buy any of the AW collection just click on the images and to check out their sale click here.

Designer Spotlight–Mihara Yasuhiro
Mihara Yasuhiro is a Japanese designer held in high esteem both in Japan and the rest of the world due to his Avant garde designs with a touch of the urbanite to them.
He started his career in footwear while still at university 17 years ago. They quickly became popular thanks to their innovative edge. In 1997 he formed his footwear label Miharayasuhiro and a year later he opened his first shop Sosu in Tokyo. Once his domination of the footwear scene was complete he smoothly transitioned into menswear with a signature style that’s understated and simply chic.
Being a designer that’s always expanding into different markets – never stopping, aiming higher he now designs womenswear. Last autumn he debuted his S/S 2011 womenswear collection at Japan Fashion Week. It doesn’t fail to deliver – from nautical to rock chic, dressy casual, knitwear, tailored blouses and truly innovative footwear. He utilises high quality fabrics including silk, cotton, wool and the workmanship of his collection is exquisite. This collection has something for everyone. He is definitely one to watch he may not yet be a household name like Issey Miyake or Yohji Yamamoto but it’s only a matter of time.
Mihara Yasuhiro’s S/S 2011 collection is available exclusively at Browns Fashion in London
