Next AW2011 Footwear Collection

Preview 1a
preview1b
Next really have outdone themselves with their AW 2011 footwear collection.  Animal prints are prevalent with faux snakeskin a particular favourite of mine. Earthy, neural tones are used reminiscent of the season. Platforms, t-bar sandals, riding boots and sandals are the shoes shapes of the season. Navy blue is the signature colour and suede and tassels are the flavour of the day. Whatever your taste in footwear Next has something to suit.
The inspiration behind the collection comes from the navaho tribes as is particularly evident in their ankle boots and the earthy shades of their footwear. The English heritage is obviously an influence too as so elegantly demonstrated in the long boots and platformed loafers.
But my overall favourite is the platform blue snakeskin pumps with the delightful bow on the toe area. This shoe combines alot of my faves – bows, animal prints and a platform although the wedge loafers come a close second!
So what’s your favorite from the next AW2011 collection?

Randomness!

Everyone knows that the fashion blogger staple is a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Shoes. They may be overly popular but they are so for good reason. I’ve had my eyes on their platformed clogs for ages and I finally bagged myself a pair in the Office sale. Gorgeous aren’t they?
I also need to say a huge thank you to Georgia of  Georgia May Boutique for the lovely present she sent me as a thank you for this post that i did about her amazing jewellery.

Lastly I’d like to share some photos that I've taken on my blackberry within the last month or so. Food seems to be a recurring theme here. Yes I LOVE to eat!

OOTD - The One With The Fear Conquering Shoes

Today has been such a gloriously warm day. The UK really is in the midst of summer weather now. So today I decided to rock a playsuit with these amazing shoes I picked up while in London. They're higher than i'm used to and I feel a little self conscious in them as they take my height over 6foot but I soldiered through and wore them anyway. I really adore high heeled platform shoes and I intend to wear them more often and push all my self doubt to the side. While wearing them I just tried to think about how many women wish they had my height (that helped a little). So what do you think of this look guys? Should I ignore my height fears and wear platforms more often?

Nina Dolcetti - Funky Footwear

uk beauty blog nina dolcetti

Ever since I spied Amelia Gregory wearing an awesome pair of shoes by Nina Dolcetti at the launch party for ACOFI back in January I`ve been a huge fan. Not only are her shoes original, funky and edgy but they are also ethically made by hand in a studio in East London. Nina Dolcetti really is a family business with all of them banding together to create the stunning shoes the brand is known for. Coloured using vegetable dyes this astonishing footwear fulfills my need for ethically produced shoes but still ticks all my style boxes. Funky - yes, stylish - yes, statement pieces - yes.

You can see the full collection and find stockists here

New Hair!!!

As quite a few of you requested I've taken a pic of my hair. Excuse the really bad pic though as it was taken in a hurry and my hair hasn't been styled its au naturelle. Funny facetime !!!

See why i said funny face ?

Yesterday I showed off some recent purchases - well that wasn't all of them but didnt wanna bombard you guys.

I also received a package from eyeko with 2xgraffiti eyeliner in black, 2 fat balms in frosted and 6 bottles of nail polish :) I got 2 of everything as the 2nd item of each product is for a giveaway when I reach the holy grail of 400 followers :)

Now to shoes :)

All of these shoes look better on than they do on my camera.

I love the las pair especially I have a huge fondness for wedges at the moment and camel is very on trend. You can' tell by the photo but they're actually suede.

Lastly is a new studded bag that I got from Tesco of all places. To all my american readers Tesco is a supermarket. I was very stunned at finding such an awesome bag fo a tenner in a supermarket lol. Can you believe Tesco even does a couture range with pieces around the £100 pricemark. They are designed by recnt london college of Fashion graduates I believe.

Now i've got all my purchases blogged about so back to normal tomorrow altough soon it'll be time for the January sales so then i'll have a truckload of purchases to share with you :)

I think i've rambled on long enough now guys so i'll let you get off.

New Dress and Harajuku Lovers Shoes – Outfit Post

Today I went shopping to pick up a Halloween outfit for my eldest son. He dressed as the devil :) On my way to get a taxi I happened to stumble past Lipsy. I love that place their dresses are gorgeous. So i decided to pop in and have a look as they had a sale on. I had received a lush pair of shoes from Harajuku Lovers earlier in the week and wanted a dress to wear with them. Have you ever arranged an outfit around a pair of heels? Anyway i spotted a lovely dress in the sale so i decided to buy it. It was half price and the last in my size so i thought I'd better. I thought I'd show you guys some pix of me wearing it.

And a close up of the gorgeous shoes :)

I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to wear the dress and shoes with that jacket or not. I may buy a black biker jacket to wear with it instead.

What do you guys think?

The problem with being tall!

Everyone thinks being tall must be a godsend but i must say i hugely disagree. I'm 5ft11 and while my legs might look good in a pair of skinnies finding the skinnies in the first place is a bit of a mission. It's got easier as more brands have introduced tall ranges but when your a fan of Japanese clothing it really can be a huge problem.

Obviously i understand why Japanese brands don't sell clothing for someone of my height (most Japanese women are quite short) it can be very frustrating. I'm always seeing really cute Japanese skirts but on me they would look like a belt and trousers would finish half way up my leg and not in a cropped trousers kind of way. So not a good look. Tops are okay for me as long as they're short sleeved but long sleeved tops and jackets are a definite no-no. I've googled and searched and asked people for places that sell Japanese style clothing for tall women with no such luck.

Then we get to shoes. I discovered a really great Korean site recently but they only go up to a size 6 and I'm a size 8. Big feet go hand in hand with long legs it seems. Also i love high heels but when i wear them i look like a giant. I try not to worry about that and wear them anyway but i hate towering above all my friends. In an ideal life i would be about 5ft7 but obviously i cant do anything about my height. I've been this height since my early teens.

I really wish there were more tall Japanese women because then the brands would be forced to stock tall ranges. I wonder where tall Japanese women get clothes that fit. Do they buy their clothes from western stores? Anyone know of any Japanese brands that stock long length clothing or shoes in my size?
