Loving- Comme des Garcons AW2011
My love for Japanese designers is well known and if your a regular reader of this blog then that statement won't surprise you. Top of the list is iconic label Comme des Garcons.
Comme des Garcons was founded in 1969 by Rei Kawakubo. The brand is based in the capital of cool Tokyo and style central Paris. CDG have been showing their collections at Paris Fashion Week since 1981. The label is well known for its extensive use of black and the detailing that makes each piece unique. CDG is also responsible for bringing us the design supremo that is Junya Watanabe. In 2008 they designed a critically acclaimed collection for high street store H&M.
Their AW collection adheres to their design ethos and bears their signature colour - black and deconstructed, slightly androgynous silhouettes. Scalloped trouser hems feature in this collection as well as a palette of grey, gold and florals. The iconic drop crotch trousers also make a welcome return. This collection is classic CDG and will delight Comme fans everywhere.

Comme De Garcons always have a great collection. I love all the black here (my favourite colour to wear!)
ReplyDeleteThat first outfit is crazy. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCDG is just so interesting, there is so much more than meets the eye. Also have fun exploring Monki tomorrow, let me know how it goes and if the concession is big/small!
