Red Velvet–Vintage Wonderland

Some stores look so beautiful that it makes me want to live in them. Red Velvet is one such store. The girls behind the store and Red Velvet brand have worked hard to make their vision come to life – the shop and brand have been 9 years in the making. They started off just selling handmade fashion accessories to sell at festivals and now they have a vintage clothing emporium, sweet shop and bubble tea cafe and a popular online store.
They not only source quality vintage clothing but they also restore vintage pieces and stock the best in independent design.  Seeing photos of their shop which is located in Springfield, USA makes me wish that i lived nearby. There’s no doubt that I would be a regular customer and I’d be forever be stuffing my face with their delicious sweets and my all time favorite drink – bubble tea!
Just take a look at these photos from their shop and tell me you don’t think it’s the most gorgeous looking shop!

Not only is their non-virtual shop beautiful but they obviously pay the same attention to detail to their online store. Their lookbook images are some of the beautiful lookbook photos i’ve ever seen (and i’m sent a lot of lookbooks)!!

Jum Nakao–Papier Extraordinaire

He is a marvel in fashion design. The Brazilian-Japanese fashion designer created these magnificent designs out of paper! Yes you heard me right Paper. The Japanese have long been experts in the art of origami (paper folding) but these designs take that to another level. From 80s style puffed up sleeves to intricately designed full skirts, embroidery style garments and birdcage style skirts this collection has it all. This collection has a definite vintage feel to it and the designer teamed these wonderful creations with headwear reminiscent of a Lego figure to complete the ethereal look.

Jum Nakao works out of a workshop in Sao Paulo, Brazil and runs design workshops on a regular basis.
