Cupcake and Tribal Nail Art

Right y'all know i'm obsessed with nail art right? Well these are two of my most recent creations! I'm especially proud of the cupcake ones. I'm no Sophy Robson but with lots of practice my nail art is steadily improving. You'll see more of my creations on my twitter page under recent images. If your keen to try nail art then don't bother with the models inc nail art pens as they only do two colours and are £6 each. Check out ebay where you can buy a set of 24 for about £12. They are basically the same as the Models Inc ones but a hell of a lot cheaper. Tweet me your creations at @fayemarieblogs. Give it a try!

People Tree & Orla Kiely S/S 2012

Now you must have been living under a rock to have missed People Tree's fabulous collaboration with Emma Watson. Well now they've done it again. But this collaboration is even more fabulous.

People Tree have collaborated with amazing designer Orla Kiely for their 2nd collection together. The designer is well known for her stunning prints and out of this world accessories.

The collections colour palette features neutrals, corals & navy blue. So it is ideal for Spring\Summer. The range has a distinct retro feel with many pieces being 50s inspired. Button up bell style skirts, sleeveless alpine print dresses with belts at the waist, jersey dresses made with 100% organic cotton that is fairtrade certified.

I saw this collection in person on Thursday and instantly fell in love. I adore the garments silhouettes, the monochrome and coral palette and above all the femininity that is inherent in the collection.

Now you all probably know that People Tree is an ethical fashion brand. Ethical brands have a special place in my heart. People Tree's SS12 collection supports 4000 farmers and artisans from some of the world's poorest countries. They promote and use organic and handmade materials.
I'm really glad to see more designers embracing ethically made clothing and it is a real coup for People Tree to get a top designer like Orla Kiely involved with the brand.

The collection launches February 2012.

Berkeley Square Cosmetics Collaborates with Royal Ballet

Berkeley Square (the cosmetics brand) have gotten together with The Royal Ballet and principal dancer Olivia Cowley to create a bodycare collection. The new range includes a body cream, hand & foot cream, muscle soothing gel and a bath and shower creme.

The products have a delightful soft scent and work really well. The hand and foot cream is a particular favorite of mine. My feet took a battering in all the press day madness but this cream really rescued them. I applied a thick layer to both feet before bed, put on some socks and awoke to soft feet.

The range was designed to be used by The Royal Ballet dancers and to also be used by today's modern woman. Many of us have demanding lifestyles and need products that can deal with that. The range is intended to ease the stress on your skin while also being soothing and moisturising. It's a premium range that includes soothing materials menthol, seaweed extract and aloe vera as well as ingredients vitamin e and arnica which are vital for skin repair.

The range is priced from £12-£18.

It is available from The Royal Ballet shop and other stockists listed here.

G Star Raw Women's Night

On Thursday night I was lucky enough to be invited to attend legendary denim store G Star Raw's Women's Night. Held at their Covent Garden store and other stores worldwide. It was a night of music, pampering and fabulous fashion. I took along my 'partner-in-crime' Scarlett of Oh So Scarlett.

Now I always thought of G star Raw as a menswear store  but the event proved that the store is equally aimed at the fairer sex. Now i'm not usually a big fan of denim brands as my personal style is very girly but G star Raw does denim perfect for a girl like me. The collection isn't restricted to denim either I found their knitwear particularly enticing.

One of the high points of the night was having my nails done by a lovely lady from Butter London. I've never tried their polishes before but I had of course heard of them. I was seriously amazed  by the quality, colours and how quickly it dried. I was also overjoyed to discover that it doesn't contain formaldehyde like most mainstream polishes. I opted for a very lush looking glittery gold.

There were also hairdressers on hand as well as makeup artists from Benefit. In Style magazine were also in attendance including their fashion director and stylist.

I also met up with blogger buddy Elle of A Bird in the Hand. So it was like a mini blogger meetup.

Review - 17 Magnetic Nail Polish & Mooooo!

Hey Lovelies!

So who's heard of the new trend in nail art? Of course I'm talking about magnetic nail polishes. Basically the polish contains little flecks of metal which create a unique looking effect on the nails when you place a magnet near the wet polish on the nail. Clever huh?

I've been dying to try it out for quite some time so when I saw 17 had brought one out and it was on promotion I figured what the hell, let's give it a try. I have one word word for you - amazing! So easy to apply and I love the 3D effect it gives to my nails and it almost looks holographic when it catches the light. The polish was super easy to apply. It's quite pigmented so you only need one coat and the cuticle rest on the lid makes it a cinch to magnetise the polish. I went for the metallic green colour and it is a gorgeous shade. The polish dries quickly and doesn't chip easily. Sop as you can probably tell 17 Magnetised nail polish gets a big thumbs up from me. Now all I need to decide is which colour to choose next. I think I might try out the purple. Any of you tried magnetic polish yet?

Moving on...... Everytime I attend a bloggers event or press event I seem to get asked for a business card for my blog. I've resisted the urge to purchase some.....until now. A couple of weeks ago online influence assessors Klout offered a perk for their top influencers that allowed you to purchase mini moocards for just the price of postage. So i decided now was the time to jump on the bandwagon and get me some Moo! I really love my cards so I'm glad I did they're soo pretty. And of course I love pretty things. Take a look.

So Kawaii–Jewellery Good Enough to Eat

As my regular readers will remember I recently posted about my night at the launch of Amelias Compendium of Fashion Illustration where I spoke about meeting a jewellery designer called Maxine Johnston who designs super cute Japanese style jewellery for her online store Little Miss Delicious. I was immediately captivated by her blue hair and awesome jewellery and she was super nice too despite my bumbling manner lol.

Well let me introduce you to her super kawaii (cute) jewellery. As soon as I saw her items I was delighted as they are so japanese flavored. She makes all the jewellery herself and its reasonably priced. She also makes felt accessories and lovely floor cushions.

Here’s just a small selection of her jewellery:

Uniqlo +J S/S 2011 Collection now on sale

Uniqlo’s premium collection +J went on sale at 1am today. The collection is held in high esteem by fashion lovers for its excellent quality materials including cotton, cashmere and wool and the construction is on a par to the luxury brands.

The tailoring is exquisite with some of my fave pieces being the cotton wrap skirts, long sleeved shirt dresses and the cashmere v neck cardigans.

Are you a uniqlo fan? What are your favourites?

I’m SO Excited!

As many of you already know I’ve had plans for a dedicated community for UK fashion bloggers in the works and i’m pleased to say I’ve now set up the site and got my first members. I launched it yesterday and so far so good. Obviously I still have a lot of work to do but the foundations are in place. It has forums, groups, profiles and each few days i’ll be showcasing a different blogger who’ll appear on the front page.

My aim is to provide somewhere for UK bloggers to congregate and share experiences for the benefit of all us. I want the uk fashion blogging community to become more close knit as there is a huge absense of a dedicated fashion blogging network for us brits. I love many other blogging communities and will still participate in them but feel that they tend to be USA centric.

I’ll be purchasing a custom URL but for the moment its at - http://ukfashbloggr.ning.com/
