Hime Gyaru Hair and Make up tutorial

Hey guys so it seems that a lot of people are interested in how to do hime gyaru hair and make up so i thought I'd do both a hair and a make up tutorial.

Make up tutorial

Moisturize.

Apply a light concealer.

Blend this into your skin . 1 layer or 2 should do

Apply a translucent powder if your skin is naturally clear and smooth. If not apply a powder the same shade or 1 step lighter then your concealer. Once you’ve done matting your face, apply a light shimmer power or translucent shimmer over your forehead, cheeks, chin and nose, maybe under your eyes if they seem dull.

Take an eyebrow brush and eyebrow pencil in a similar colour to your hair colour lightly sweep your pencil over your eyes and make an arch you like, use it until the colour in your eyebrows are blended, light and uniform. This also helps take away excess make-up.

Use a volumizing or lengthening mascara, apply several coats of this until your eyelashes are visible above your brow bone, if there are clumps, use the tooth comb on your eyebrow brush and comb through until there are no clumps.

line your eyes do it VERY thinly, try not to use too much liquid eyeliner, .Stay close to your eyelash line.VERY THIN. and flick it out at the outside corners of your eyes.

Sweep over your eyelids a nice soft pink, soft brown, optimally you can use both

Use a light pink, dusty rose on your cheeks.Smile very big and sweep these over the apples of your cheeks up to your temple. Don't over blush

Choose a very pale pink lipstick, put this on,and over top put a light bronze put a very light layer over the top of your lips, this will make your face shimmer.

Wash, condition. Blow dry straight, PIN STRAIT. Tease the roots with a teasing comb, not the hair that shows, for example your natural part. Tease under your parting, about 1 1/2 inches under your parting, you want a sleek look on top.

Tease the back following the same rules as your parting. If you’re having trouble seeing the back of your hair. Have a friend hold a mirror behind you while you’re facing another mirror or have her do it. Use some aerosol hair spray over the top of your hair liberally. Blow dry the top on low, so it gets stiff

So you have your hair height. pin up the top sections, put in some bobby pins without disturbing the hold, the longer hair you wanna use a curling iron on. Put some gel into the ends of your hair and work through. Once you’ve done this take a 1 1/2 -2 1/2 inch curling iron and curl each 1 1/2 inch piece clockwise. Hold in your hair for a minute on each strand.
do this till all the hair at the bottom is in uniform curls.

So curls are done. HAIR SPRAY LIBERALLY and wait for them to dry.
grab some clear bobby pins or black if you have fancy lacy hair pins and accessories. So, remember how i said clip back the hair from your ears up. Take that hair and pin back to about the middle or your hair, before you do this, tease again whatever you didn't curl, tease and tease until you have height. so there you have height, sweep your hair back to that point and cover the teased hair with the smooth strait hair you’ve left unitised. use your fingers while looking in a mirror to create a high bouffant, once you found a place that is comfortable and looks decent, pin down with bobby pins. If you’ve done this correctly, your hair should be high, the ends curled .If you have fringe, sweep it to the side and hair spray, if its long, use a bobby pin to to keep it in place.

So there you have it guys – a himegyaru hair and make up tutorial. What tutorials would you guys like in the future?

Violet’s nails - review :)

Hey there. So today i received my nails from Violet in the post. So exciting!

Packaging

They were wrapped in lovely material and came fixed to a pretty material covered board. I love the way she stores them. Usually they are sold in ugly plastic packaging and they all fall out when you try to prise them out so Violets way is much more practical and a whole lot prettier.

Appearance

I've bought nails online before and found  that they didn't look like they did in the photo so i was pleasantly surprised when they arrived because they were exactly like the photo. The nail varnish used had a lovely shimmer to it and it had cute little love hearts on them as well as little painted desserts. The chocolate dripping over the tips is a lovely finishing touch.

Usability

These nails are super practical for a busy mum like me. The length is perfect long enough to look pretty but short enough for me to be able to pick up my 2 year old son without my nails scratching him. I thought the heart gems would catch on clothing etc but surprisingly they don’t.

Price

The ones i purchased amounted to about £10 which is very reasonable. In the uk it costs about that to get plain ones so i was very happy with the price especially as it includes shipping.

Durability

Well so far I've worn them while washing the dishes, having a bath, cleaning and chasing after the kids and they are still in perfect condition and they didn't come off so i would say they’re pretty durable.

So in conclusion i would say these nails are a winner. Affordable and beautiful and shipped quickly. What more could you want in a set of nails. I’ll be ordering more very soon. i would definitely recommend giving her site a visit to see what you fancy. And her blog is deffo worth a visit for any hime gyaru.

i love japanese fashion magazines :-)

Konnichiwa!! Hey guys. how are you all?Well as usual i've been shopping again I ordered some kawaii paper, memo sheets, letter sets etc its all so cute. Ebay is a godsend. I also ordered some circle lenses from tokyo toys (http://www.tokyotoys.com/). Can't wait till they arrive.  I'll do a review once i've tried them out :) I also ordered Ageha from the Japan centre i love Japanese magzines of al different types. I love looking at all types of Japanese fashions even the ones with fashion that i would never wear. So today i thought i'd give you an insight into some of the most popular ones:)

So here goes

The first one i'm going to examine is Kera. This is one of the most popula magazines in Japan. It looks at real people on the street in all different kinds of styles. Some real fashion leading people off the street in all manners of different styles. Creativity is the key. It also provides make up tutorials as well as film and music news and examining the style of celebrities.

As you can probably tell by the front cover this magazine covers gyaru style mostly gangura. It has been very important in the rise of the ganguro movement. The current version of the magazine shows a more toned down version of ganguro. It covers make up tutorials, fashion and covers every aspect of ganguro.

Gothic lolita bible focuses on the different subcultures within lolita. Advising how to ormulate a good lolita outfit complete with sections on accessories, bags and shoes. And shows pics of real girls wearing Lolita on the streets are at huge Tokyo club nights.

And now to my favorit of the bunch.

AGEHA

This magazine is fab and oh so pretty. It focuses on hime fashion. Yay!! It shows various different type of hime hair. Every page is sparkly and princess like and it features fashion and make up and a section on caring for wigs unusually. The hair tutorials are amazing and you dont even need to be able to read japanese as every step has a photo attached and they do the same for the make up tutorials :)

So there you have it :) the world of Japanese fashion mags.

Now im off to the land of nod its 11.30 pm and very hot so i'm seriously tired. Nite nite!

Ooo shoes!

Hello my lovelies. the weather has been super hot today so i had a fun
day with my son. first of all we visited a car boot sale where we
enjoyed freshly made doughnuts. yummy! i found the most gorgeous
painting of a geisha there for just £12. its going to look great on my
living room wall. after the market we went to the local shopping
centre. as you all know i love new look so of course i had to go in.
and i'm so glad i did. i got a gorgeous little t shirt adorned with
pearls along the neckline. i also got a pair of pink peep toe heels
with bows at the front and a light blue lace sundress with an
underskirt for that princess look. and a floral dress with the skirt
part pleated. i love shopping. i plan to do some more tomorrow. then
we grabbed some sushi from yo sushi. i had their spicy chicken salad
and their fruit salad. my boy loves maki so he had some of that. and
whoop tomorrow i finally get my laptop back. writing a blog on your
mobile is so time consuming x so all in all i had a good day.

till next time
